Charge to the
Sons of Confederate Veterans: "To
you,
Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the Cause
for which we fought; to your strength will be given the defense of the
Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the
emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved
and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember, it is
your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to
future generations." |

On the left is the Confederate Monument, located at the American Legion Hall in Duncan Park in Spartanburg, SC. This monument was constructed under the direction of the ladies of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and used a marble column from the South Carolina State House that had to be replaced due to damage by Gen. Sherman's artillery. Below is Past Camp Commander Bob Kinard, naming his CSA ancestors during a Memorial Service sponsored by the ladies of the local UDC Chapter at the foot of the monument on Confederate Memorial Day, 2002.
